KHCC is currently rolling out our application for the KHCC Teen Center's 2022 Summer Bridge Internship program. This 6 week leadership and job readiness experience is aimed at current high school students.
NOTE:
*KHCC will accept some rising 8th graders and rising college freshmen since these ages have fared well in our Bridge Program in the past two summers as well.
**Those who have applied to SYEP should still apply! SYEP is lottery based. Youth who applied through Bronx Theatre or ISLA, or those who chose HANAC or Bronx Works as their provider agency may participate in Bridge for most of their SYEP hours.
***Youth will need to show proof of vaccination and/or submit a negative Covid test before starting the program, and every week thereafter.
The program provides youth with 16 hours of paid (stipend based) leadership training, job readiness skills building, financial literacy, college and career workshops, service projects (in KHCC's food pantry and 4 community gardens), and an introduction to entrepreneurship with a focus on our culminating 'Shark Tank' projects.
Young people are also offered group support and have opportunities to engage in fun day trips (swimming, biking) and an overnight college trip to various campuses in New York state during the week of August 15th.
Submit KHCC Summer Bridge 2022 Application now!
Submissions close by Friday, May 6th. Youth will be contacted for a virtual group interview during the week of May 9th.
