If you are a survivor of sexual violence, know that you are not alone. There are several places in New York City that offer resources and services for you.
Emergency Care
If you have been sexually assaulted in the past 96 hours, or four days, now is the most crucial time to receive medical care. You can go to any hospital emergency department and request a sexual assault medical exam. Some hospitals, known as SAFE Designated Centers, are able to provide you with enhanced care featuring a team that is specifically trained to assist you.
There are three SAFE Designated Centers in the Bronx (note that there are SAFE Designated Centers in every county in New York City):

Hotlines and Helplines
Safe Horizon advocates are available for free 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide confidential crisis counseling, safety planning, and information about resources. You can call them at (212) 227-3000. A TTD machine is also available for hearing impaired clients: (866) 604-5350.
The Anti-Violence Project offers a free bilingual 24 hour hotline that provides support and resources to LGBTQ and HIV-affected survivors of any type of violence. You can call them at (212) 714-1141.
