Kingsbridge Heights Community Center and The Aesthetic will host a backpack giveaway on Sunday, September 20th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at 3101 Kingsbridge Terrace, Bronx, NY 10463. The event is open to all, and backpacks will be given away on a first come first serve basis.
“We have experienced moments in our lives where we lacked the proper resources going back to school,” said Jaylen Edwards, founder of The Aesthetic. “We have resorted to actions such as recycling notebooks from previous years and folders for the new school year. Our goal is to reach out to the students who may need a helping hand during these trying times. Although we’re small now, The Aesthetic is looking to expand on this project every year in order to aid in the development of the scholars in our neighborhoods.”
The organizers have set a goal to give away 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to aid in the success of students and their families through these challenging times. The team hopes to make sure students are well equipped and prepared to start the academic year.
