KHCC picks up K-5 children daily from school to bring them to KHCC safely for after school homework, STEM programming, arts, physical fitness and a home-cooked dinner. Our vans also play an important role in our Special Needs Program: participants have sensory challenges which makes public transportation nearly impossible for them as they cope with overstimulation from people, noises, and smells. KHCC vans transport them home safely - throughout the Bronx - where traffic forces evening trips to take between 1-2 hours. Our vans are also used for college trips! Our college-bound teens travel throughout the East Coast to explore college campuses so they can make the best choice for school after graduation. We need updated, reliable vans urgently!
